Information for entering KGBRA/KMBRA classes.

GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE IN 2012!  RIDE HARD AND HAVE FUN!

Since we have a lot of new members this year and some old members that might need a refresher course, this is how our entries are taken, points are kept, and awards given out.

Members will enter in the classes at the show as usual. You will then need to pay a $3.00 nomination fee to the KGBRA/KMBRA person taking entries, for each class that you wish points to be kept in.  You may only have points on one horse in each class at the show, so if you are riding more than one horse you must designate at the time of entering with the KGBRA/KMBRA which horse you want points on for that show.  Points for the year are kept on the rider, not the horse, so you may accumulate your points for the year on different horses.  There is no payback.  The $3.00 nomination fee is kept for year end awards.  Placings in each class are taken from KGBRA/KMBRA members times that have nominated.

Placings and points are given for the top 5 women and top 5 men in open poles.  The top 5 in each of these receive year end awards.  Flags are 2-D with a 1/2 second split.  Placings and points are awarded to the top 5 in each division.  A person may not place in two divisions.  Year end awards are given for the top 5 in each division.  If a person has points in both divisions, the placing that has the highest dollar amount is what the person receives.  Women's Barrel times are taken out of the open barrel class among paying KGBRA memers only.  The Women's Barrels are 2-D with a full second split.  Placings and points are given for the top 5 in each division.  Year end awards are given to the top 5 in each division.  A person may only place in one division.  Men's Barrel times are taken out of the open barrel class among KMBRA paying members only.  Men's Barrels are 2-D with a full second split.  Placings and points are given for the top 5 in each division.  Year end awards are given to the top 5 in each division.  A person may only place in one division.  Youth Barrels are 2-D with a full second split.  Placings and points are given for the top 5 in each division.  Year end awards are given to the top 5 in each division.  A person may only place in one division. Youth Poles are 1-D with placings and points are given for the top 5.  Year end awards are given to the top 5.

Peewee Barrel times are taken out of the peewee barrel class.  The Peewee Plole times will be taken out of the Peewee Pole class when there is one in the show.  KGBRA/KMBRA peewee riders are 10 and under.  The Peewee Barrels and Poles are 1-D. Although the main awards are given to the top 5 in each, every peewee rider that participates recevies an award.  Times are also kept on our assisted riders and they receive awards as well.

Year end awards are presented for All Around Sr. Riders (19 & over) for both women and men.  All Around Youth Awards are presented for both KGBRA and KMBRA youth 18 & under.  Rookie awards, first year rider, are presented to the members with the most barrel points and one for the most pole points.  Also, there is a Rookie Youth Award for the youth rider 18 & under that is participating in the youth classes for the first time in the KGBRA.  This is combined youth barrels and poles.

Entries at the show will usually be taken by Mary Young, Melissa Metcalf or Denise Ray for 2012.
